Erin Carter-McCormick

Erin Carter-McCormick is a Brooks County native but resides in Lake Park, GA. As a proud U.S. Navy Veteran, she continued her service in the public sector as a Student Success Coordinator at Wiregrass GA Technical College.

In 2021, the founding of Heroinez of Hope, Inc. allowed her to further fulfill her purpose, specifically helping battered women and focusing on women's empowerment.

Darius L. Anthony

Darius L. Anthony serves as the Assistant Director of Career Opportunities and Volunteer Services at Valdosta State University, where he connects students with career, internship, and volunteer opportunities.

He is passionate about building relationships, serving others, and creating meaningful experiences that help individuals achieve their personal and professional goals.

Darius is actively involved in a variety of community and professional organizations, dedicating his time to initiatives that strengthen and support the communities he serves.

Guided by his personal motto, "Each One Reach One," he is committed to making a lasting and positive impact on those around him.

Medina Franklin

Medina Franklin is a dedicated community leader and the Chief Financial Officer of Sisterology, a stylish women's online boutique.

She proudly serves on the Board of Directors for LAMP, a local family shelter, and now joins the Board of Heroinez of Hope, continuing her passion for service, advocacy, and women's empowerment.

Medina is also an alumna of Leadership Lowndes and obtained her B.B.A. degree in Accounting from Valdosta State University, reflecting her strong foundation in leadership, business, and community impact.

She is a proud church member of Kingdom Builders Deliverance Center.

Tia Heard, Vice-Chair

Tia Heard

Tia Heard is a native of Lowndes County and a dedicated public servant. She retired from the State of Georgia after 30 years of serving families.

Currently, she serves as the Vice-Chair for Valdosta City Schools Board of Education.

Tia's passion is rooted in uplifting the South Georgia community that has supported her. Beyond her educational leadership, she remains deeply active in both her local community and the body of Christ.

Rosetta Harrington

Ms. Rosetta Harrington is a native of Valdosta, GA and active in the Lowndes County community.

For over 20 years she has proudly served as a member of the MLK Committee, Servant of God with Open Arms, and the Southside Library Association, just to name a few.

In addition to Heroinez of Hope, Inc., she is the spiritual Overseer of New Destiny Temple of Deliverance in Valdosta, GA.

Ms. Rosetta's wisdom, leadership, and guidance foster hope in women of all ages.

Dr. Hill-Cannady

Demetria Hill Cannady, PhD, LPC, is the CEO of “A Work In Progress, LLC” a private practice in Valdosta, Georgia which focuses on Mental Health Wellness and Empowerment.

She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Master Addictions Counselor, a Certified Clinical Supervisor for Licensed Professional Counselors, and a Certified Trauma Professional in Georgia.

Demetria received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work and her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia.

Demetria holds a PhD in Human Services with a Specialization in Counseling Studies from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

She also holds Post-Certification in Contemporary Theory in Addictive Behavior and College Teaching; both obtained through Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Demetria is a trainer/facilitator for the “Prepare Enrich” which is a Premarital/ Marriage Curriculum which focuses on couples, enhancing new marriages and/ or repairing broken marriages.

Demetria became a Certified Life Coach from the Life Coach Institute in Pensacola, Florida, and a Christian Life Coach through “Embrace You” Coaching in Jacksonville, Florida.

Demetria is a Marriage and Empowerment Coach who focuses on a variety of women’s issues such as: self-esteem/ self-worth; relationships; single parent/blended families and family issues.
